Terms of use

The service

Paga is a wallet on your phone for use at a bar or an event. Each fita exists only for the event it was opened for, and is used to pay for drinks at that event.

Top-ups

Money loaded onto a fita belongs to the customer until it is spent. Top-ups are made with M-Pesa, e-Mola or a card.

Paying at the bar

A payment is charged only when the barman confirms the order after checking it. Scanning a payment code moves no money. Codes change every 15 seconds and expire after a minute.

Refunds

For ten minutes after a payment, the customer can ask for a refund by showing the refund code to the barman. The amount goes back onto the fita.

Withdrawals and fees

Any remaining balance can be withdrawn to M-Pesa or e-Mola. Paga charges a fee on withdrawals, shown together with the amount and what will arrive before the customer confirms.

Shared fitas

Whoever opens a shared fita decides which members may spend and which may withdraw. Every member sees the top-ups and payments on the fita.

Account name

Payments and top-ups are recorded under the account name. For that reason the name cannot be changed once it is set.
